Review
Robbie Packford seems like a regular sixth-grader, although he is
something of a math nerd. In Robbie Packford—Alien Monster (2003), the
first volume in the series, the youngster was picked by Jamie (his geeky
friend) to help Dr. Freedelhum save the planet Kerbosky from some nasty
robots. Before returning to Earth, Robbie introduced the Kerboskians to
pizza. In Make Mine with Everything, all of the Kerboskians have become
addicted to the pizza, which is made by a specially programmed
processor. The Kerboskians who live on the twin planet Drabblova,
however, want to steal the processor so that they can keep Kerbosky’s
citizens addicted and take control of the planet. Robbie, Jamie, and Dr.
Freedelhum figure out how to get the two sides to co-operate. When
Robbie returns to Earth, he uses his skills on the bullies at school.
In What Ever Happened to My Dog Cuddles, Dr. Freedelhum has been
infected with a blob by the invading planet Plimbistro. Jamie returns to
Earth to seek Robbie’s assistance, and Jamie, Robbie, and Cuddles,
must save Dr. Freedelhum and all of Kerbosky from the invaders.
Well written, and illustrated with a few drawings, this imaginative
sci-fi adventure series is a winner. Highly recommended.
