Review

In this latest Matthew Midnight adventure, the movie Raiders of the Lost
Ark inspires Matthew to make a movie of his own. Around midnight,
Matthew is thrown into an situation involving a villain, a streetcar
full of wild turkeys, and the kidnapping of his mother. A midnight movie
shoot takes Matthew and his mother on a crazy ride through a department
store, among other places.

The next morning, Matthew’s mother suggests that the whole night was
just a peculiar dream, while Matthew tells that her the award-winning
movie was broadcast on the Dreaming Channel.

Matthew and the Midnight Movie is a fast and furious (and very
entertaining) read for young children. Martchenko’s funny, colorful
illustrations bounce Matthew and his adventures right off the page.
Recommended.
