Review

Terry Boyle is a writer, broadcaster, and special education teacher. His
previous books were Haunted Ontario and Memories of Ontario: The
Traveller’s Guide to the Towns and Cities of Western Ontario. The
product of careful research, Hidden Ontario features mini-histories of
over 37 towns and cities throughout Ontario. Stories of colorful
small-town characters and the pioneers who helped shape Ontario’s
communities are interspersed with vintage photographs from the excellent
collection of photographs at the Archives of Ontario. This fine local
history would be a worthy addition to the Canadiana collections of
public and academic libraries.
