Review

This well-written introduction to yoga is short, but it covers a lot of
territory. The early chapters discuss the benefits of yoga for young
people and include a brief history of yoga. The next chapters cover the
warm-up and breathing. The longest chapter, dedicated to individual
poses, includes helpful diagrams and gives numbered instructions on how
to get into, maintain, and safely exit the pose. Subsequent sections
deal with relaxation and adapting yoga to make it part of your life. A
list of resources and a glossary of terms round out the volume.

The format of this engagingly written book is designed to appeal to
young readers with features like “Did You Know?” and “Ask Yoga
Dude.” I Love Yoga is filled with anecdotes from both stars who
practise yoga and young people who demonstrate that yoga is not only
useful but popular and cool. An essential read for any young yoga
enthusiast. Highly recommended.
