Review

Twelve-year-old Lion, his sister Bobbi, and their lawyer father, travel
to a sprawling ranch located in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia.
Their father has been called by his old friend, Brock, to look into some
suspicious, unexplained events taking place on Brock’s ranch, which if
not solved, may cause him to lose his property and animals. The sudden
appearance of a crop circle, thefts, mysterious shadows during the
night, a fire, a kidnapping, poaching, and injuries inflicted upon
Brock’s horses, are just some of the things that need to be solved.
Then there are the sleazy neighbors and the strange siting of a young
girl who wants to help.

This third volume in the Lion and Bobbi series moves smoothly and
quickly, catching our interest with anticipation as we follow the young
sleuths on their exciting adventure. The book is not only a fun mystery,
it is also a story that educates young readers about what life is like
on a Western Canadian ranch. Highly recommended.
