Review

This is a book for those people who think Halloween should involve more
than just a store-bought costume and a bag full of boring candy. In this
one small book you will find more than 120 Halloween games, costumes,
snacks, and decorating ideas. Each of the book’s seven chapters has a
particular focus: “Outdoor Decorations,” “Indoor Decorations,”
“Dazzling Jack-o’-Lanterns and Pumpkins,” “Devilishly Delectable
Treats,” “Party Favours and Crafts,” “Ghoulish Games,” and
“Creepy Costumes and Menacing Make-up.” Each chapter is packed with
easy-to-make projects that the whole family can enjoy. For example, the
“Indoor Decoration” chapter shows readers how to make Cheesecloth
Ghosts, Spooky Candle Centrepieces, Hovering Bats, Dangling Heads, and a
Witch’s Hand in a Treat Bowl. If your youngsters are in the mood for a
Halloween party, you can show them how to make Crispy Roasted Bones,
Wicked Wiener Fingers, Spooky Sandwiches, and even Gruesome Maggot
Cookies. When the guests arrive, make sure they participate in a
friendly game of Wrap the Mummy, Pass the Pumpkin, or Flying Witch Relay
Race. All crafts and activities involve inexpensive and easy-to-find
materials.

Every page gushes with goofy and ghoulish full-colour photos. This is a
book that the whole family, a school class, or a kid’s club can enjoy.
Highly recommended.
