Review

In Book 1, published in 1999, young Jonathan saved the dragon world from
destruction by Ozon, the Bird of Wrath. In Book 2, Ozon is back, bigger
and stronger than ever, and our young hero must fight him again. This
time, however, Ozon is out to destroy the Earth and his power seems
unbeatable. Joining Jonathan in battle is his best friend, Rhonda.

To prepare for battle, Jonathan and Rhonda go to the dragon world to
find and retrieve a magic crystal from the Tunnel of the Talking Walls.
Once they have the crystal, they fly into the sky on the back of the
unicorn Shameita and shoot the crystal into Ozon’s heart, killing the
beast and saving the Earth.

Gordon Francis has created a fine story of a world, Elim, that is both
fantastical and dependent on the Earth for its survival. Francis makes
it believable through the intricate detail he uses to describe it and
through the characters who inhabit it. As well, it seems fitting that,
in spite of their young age, the fate of the Earth and Elim rests in the
hands of Jonathan and Rhonda because they are the future of tomorrow.
Highly recommended.
