Review

Mabel and her yellow dog Pippin live a quiet, content life ... until the
day Pippin finds a spunky kitten hiding under a bush. The two furry pals
play “chase and run” all the way home to Mabel’s house. After
three more days of frolic and fun, the kitten’s owner answers the lost
ad Mabel has placed throughout town. “Would you like to keep him?”
the man asks. “I have three more at home,” Mabel responds, and says
no thank you. Suddenly, Pippin is sad and lonely. Mabel then has a
change of heart and surprises Pippin by adopting the kitten and naming
her Pudding. Now, Mabel, Pippin, and Pudding live a not so quiet life
... then one day Pudding finds a toad. The excitement continues.

Pippin and Pudding is a fun story that young children will enjoy.
Bernice Lum’s bright, happy illustrations bring the playful scenes to
life. Recommended.
