Review

Following on the heels of their successful The Kids Cottage Book (1993)
and The Kids Cottage Games Book (1998), Ann Love and Jane Drake have
teamed up to create another summer activity book. This time it is a
keepsake, scrapbook, and journal for kids of all ages who enjoy projects
and “remembering when,” or who simply want to keep a record of their
summer experiences and/or time spent at the cottage.

Some of the fun includes keeping track of songs sung, jokes told,
movies watched, trails hiked, records broken, friends who visited, new
friends made, and old traditions celebrated. There is room to write,
draw, paste, and put things in pockets. Black-and-white illustrations
and short narratives prompt the memory maker to recall everything.

Unfortunately, the spiral binding makes the book a bit fragile. The
cover released from its coil binding the first time I held it. The Kids
Cottage Memory Book is nonetheless recommended.
