Review
How does the nonstick surface stick to the pan? Why does asparagus make
urine smell funny? Why do hot dog buns come in packages of 12 when hot
dogs come in packages of eight? How did the tradition of giving gifts at
Christmas time start? Why are the keys on the keyboard not in
alphabetical order? What is the typical amount of water it takes to put
out a house fire? Why does poison ivy itch so much? What is the point of
hiccups? Why do arm pits smell? Why do refrigerators turn bananas black?
What do you do with a silly question? Send it to Marg Meikle and
chances are she has an even sillier answer, but it is hard to argue with
someone whose official title is “The Answer Lady.” Nearly a decade
ago, Meikle started appearing on the Vicky Gabereau CBC radio program.
Gabereau would ask Meikle trivia questions and Meikle would supply
well-researched, entertaining answers. This exchange became an instant
hit with listeners, who quickly began sending in questions of their own.
Many of the 99 questions in this book are listener generated (with
credits included at the beginning of each question). If you love trivia,
you’ll love this book. Highly recommended.
