Review

How do you make a good first impression? How will manners help you at
school, in public places, and at home? Put Your Best Foot Forward is the
first book in the upbeat Children’s Etiquette Series.

The book is divided into six sections, each one including practical
exercises. It’s tone is fun and lively, not preachy, because the
authors have written up these exercises as fun experiments. Kids are
invited to try various polite techniques and asked to evaluate the
responses and results they receive. It’s up to them to discover the
benefits of good manners.

The book ends with an etiquette review and a true–false quiz. The
authors’ final note is, “Congratulations! Now you can put your best
foot forward.”

The funky black-and-white sketches and photos will have a universal
appeal. Recommended.
