Review

Marjorie Willison is a garden columnist and broadcaster in Atlantic
Canada. Easy Garden Planning is a revised edition of Marjorie
Willison’s Successful Landscape Design (1989). Nine of its chapters
are devoted to carefully planning a residential landscape, and one
chapter to carrying out the plans. In the original edition, the whole
process took; 153 pages, in this expanded edition, it takes 211.
Although there are only slight rewordings of the rather ponderous text,
this edition’s typography is sharper, and the format incorporates more
white space. This design in turn, creates room for occasional sidebars.
The brighter appearance and the additional information are welcome
changes, as is the inclusion of an index.
