Review

This very appealing addition to the I Can Make series of craft books for
young children features sharp color photographs and readable text.
Principles of art, such as color, line, shape, pattern, and texture, are
clearly explained and there are step-by-step instructions for each of
the activities, with a list of necessary supplies highlighted in a
sidebar. The projects include a watercolor wash painting, portraiture, a
play clay sculpture, and a batik resist hanging done with crayons. The
supplies are not expensive, and Wallace explains how to finish the
projects for display.

I Can Make Art is another creative resource from the author of the
popular How to Make Great Stuff for Your Room (1992). Recommended for
use by educators, parents, and children.
