Review

This book gives basic information that intermediate/senior students need
in order to learn how to write good essays using various sources on a
variety of topics. It outlines how to write a report or a personal,
persuasive, or literary essay, and presents ideas for research using
libraries, computer programs, periodicals, news indexes, microfiche, and
so forth. Also provided are tips on revising, editing, proofreading,
presenting the essay, and documenting sources. The quotations and
examples used throughout are from either well-known television programs
or Canadian writers.

Essay Writing Made Easy will be a useful book for English departments,
for personal reference, and for libraries. Its clear and simple language
should be easily understood, and teachers can use the book for basic
writing instruction or for review before assignments. Author Ann Birch
is an English department head and well-known essay writer.

A highly recommended reference purchase for students who want to learn
correct essay-writing techniques and style.
