Review
This inexpensive book of gentle poems, which celebrate earth and water,
flora and fauna, will be enjoyed by 4- to 8-year-olds. Only happy or
amusing thoughts are represented, but the author is serious about his
topic: “Everywhere I go is earth / it follows me / to work to play to
home.” The brief introduction focuses on earth’s place in the
universe, and on our shared responsibility toward the planet.
Windsor-born artist John Fraser provides the attractive color and
black-and-white illustrations that accompany the poems in this friendly
and accessible volume. Recommended.
