Review

Eight-year-old Aaron and his 12-year-old sister, Rebecca, are visiting
Legoland in Denmark. Aaron, who feels that he is “always too young for
everything,” discovers that Legoland comes alive at night. In the
story, Aaron helps his new friend, Prince Aryeh, find a lost golden
sailboat trophy needed by his mother, Queen Titania, for the sailing
regatta. The two friends are almost snatched away by a great vulture,
Lego monsters, and pythons as they spend the night in Safari Park.

Safari Adventure in Legoland will interest students in Grades 3 to 4
who are learning how to build their own strange Lego creatures. It would
also be an entertaining addition to a classroom unit on animals, and
could encourage artistic creativity. The book’s format, with its large
print, conversational style, and fast-paced adventures, makes this title
a welcome addition to Scholastic’s Shooting Star series. Recommended.
