Review

After being expelled from Fielding Heights Elementary for
“mouse-racing,” 12-year-old Allison is enrolled at St. Ursula’s
School for Girls. A renowned practical joker, Allison finds herself, as
the “new girl,” the victim of practical jokes. She decides the only
way to escape from St. Ursula’s is to get expelled. But her practical
jokes backfire and her punishment is to spend even more time at the
school. In spite of herself, Allison begins to care about the sisters,
and when financial problems threaten to close St. Ursula’s, she must
make a choice between escaping or saving the school.

Co-authored by twins, Duanne and Darcy Jahns, this is a competently
written, entertaining book, rich in humor and boasting a lively, quick
style and likable characters. A fun, light read. Recommended.
