Review

Research suggests that more than 90 percent of North American
organizations are engaged in management development. Graduate management
education is considered an essential prerequisite for upper-level
management careers.

Rapid changes in management education have resulted in a dramatic
increase in the number of programs and options from which to choose.
This book provides a wealth of information (e.g., program overviews,
teaching methodologies, international student support, and program
requirements) that will help the prospective student determine which
graduate management program will best satisfy his or her needs. All of
the information has been verified by program managers, and the names and
telephone numbers of program coordinators, as well as relevant Web site
addresses, are included in the book.

It should be pointed out that only the positive features of each
program are outlined. Caveats are not expressed. Thus, applicants who
base their decision on this book alone may find themselves entering a
program with unrealistically high expectations. Individuals are
encouraged to contact program staff, faculty, and students to have
informal discussions, and to explore whether there is really a fit
between the individual’s background and needs and the program’s
requirements and objectives.
