Review

This collection of eight stories, dialogues, and poems poignantly
addresses the feelings and concerns of a young child when his or her
parents separate. The various selections, perfectly complemented by Lori
Broadfoot’s delicate charcoal sketches, are designed to reassure the
child that it’s okay to be angry, or sad, or lonely, or even happy
sometimes, and that it’s definitely all right to cry. They emphasize
that parents don’t stop loving their child, even though they are
living apart.

This is a book to be shared with a child by a caring adult. It would be
a useful resource for preschool or for a primary unit on families.
Recommended.
