Review

This informative, well-organized book covers all aspects of
speech-making, from selecting and narrowing a topic to writing and
revising the drafts, learning and rehearsing the speech, and the final
moment in front of the audience. There are numerous tips and amusing
examples of how not to make an effective speech. For each topic there
are subtopics that give readers insight into the types of questions they
should be asking themselves while preparing. Adding to the
user-friendliness of the book are Graham Pilsworth’s cartoons.
Students who must make oral presentations would certainly benefit from
obtaining a copy of this accessible and visually appealing book.
Recommended.
