Review

It is Christmas day and six young polar-bear cubs have coaxed their
father into putting on a Santa costume to hand out the Christmas gifts.
Unfortunately, all the tags on the presents have mysteriously
disappeared. The cubs are sent into the next room while father bear
unwraps each present and tries to figure out whom the gifts should be
given to. The truth of each present lurks behind a pop-up flap. There is
also a closet full of tumbling toys and a pop-up Christmas tree that
reveals the mystery of the disappearing tags.

There are few children who do not love a good pop-up book. There are
few themes that better serve pop-up books than Christmas. Therefore,
this book will likely be an instant favorite. Each pop-up present has a
unique movement that keeps the theme from becoming tedious. And though
the story line is standard fare, the artwork celebrates the classic
pseudo-Dickens Christmas. As a bonus, the publisher has included pop-out
present tags identical to the ones featured in this story. Recommended.
