Review

Although apparently intended for children, this book’s subject, style,
and format make it far more suitable for teachers, talented parents, and
trained puppeteers. The vast majority of puppets in this book are
extremely difficult both to make and operate. Besides material on the
making and operating of marionettes, on shadow plays, and on the
construction of small theatres, there are suggestions for production
“finishing touches” (popcorn bags, tickets, posters). Recommended as
a supplement to craft collections.
