Review

This delightful coloring book zeros in on the people, plants, wildlife,
and landscapes of beautiful Bay of Fundy. Complementing Sheilagh
Hunt’s realistic artwork are mini-stories by Christopher Majka that
bring everything to life.

The first 10 pages describe the area’s fascinating history, from the
“Era of the Rainforests” 300 million years ago to “The Time of
Wooden Ships.” “Time of the Glaciers” and “Pirates in the Bay of
Fundy” are sure to be favorites. Each page thereafter features a
variety of living things in their natural setting, with such interesting
themes as “An Apple a Day: Red Squirrels,” “The Wily Coyote,”
and “Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud.” Some of the creatures’ names truly
tickle the imagination: Sea Rocket, Deadman’s Fingers, Sticklebacks,
Mummichogs, Goosetongue. A glossary provides further information on such
topics as Acadia, Samuel de Champlain, the ecosystem, and fossils.

This is one coloring book that deserves to become a permanent part of
your library. Highly recommended.
