Review

Fun B.C. Facts for Kids features geographical, historical, ecological,
and sociological facts about British Columbia. Knowing that children are
fascinated by natural disasters, the author has included a chapter
titled “Catastrophic Nature,” which describes avalanches,
landslides, earthquakes, shipwrecks, and forest fires. Adding to the
book’s visual appeal are photographs and amusing cartoons. The text is
accessible and presented in small chunks that will not intimidate young
readers. All in all, a useful resource for both home and school.
Recommended.
