Review

This book tells the story of Riley Judd, a star centre for the Portland
Winter Hawks, and Tyler Watson, a fourth-line player of the same team.
Riley’s hockey skills are matched only by his oversized ego, while
Tyler is thrilled just to be a part of the team. When Riley is given the
choice of working with street kids or being kicked off the team, he
takes what he thinks is the easy way out. Tyler’s job is to ensure
that Riley actually spends time with the street kids. Both discover that
life on the street can be far more dangerous than anything they’ve
experienced on the ice.

The underlying message of this fast-paced and intriguing mystery is
that people who have a positive attitude and can get along with others
will succeed not only in hockey but also in life. Sport fans of all ages
will enjoy Winter Hawk Star. Highly recommended.
