Review

This novel has all the ingredients of a good thriller: treasure, a
mysterious dark stranger, a curious map, suspense tinged with danger,
and good boy-girl team work. Hazel Birt writes in the classic Enid
Blyton manner. Her style is engagingly simple and straightforward. Her
black-and-white illustrations are eye-catching, portraying a close and
copious knowledge of Prince Edward Island. The book is nicely designed
for readability by middle-school readers. Recommended.
