Review

A forgetful farmer leaves his sheep out in a snow storm and spends the
next day searching for the lost animals. With a shovel and a broom he
digs and uncovers a variety of objects before discovering the sheep.
From that day on, the farmer invites his sheep to spend stormy winter
nights in front of his fireplace.

The story is told in rhymes that are pleasant and expressive in places,
but often predictable and monotonous. The bleak and minimalist line
drawings fail to convey the text’s understated humor. Not recommended.
