Review

In Adventures in Cranberry Forest, one of several stories featuring the
McGuffie Avenue Gang, Jeff and Lisa Jean wake up late only to discover
that Jazz is missing. The saxophone-playing cat has wandered from
McGuffie Avenue into Cranberry Forest in search of food. Eventually, the
children find Jazz and spend a wonderful day in the forest. When they
become lost trying to leave the forest at night, Sebastian Bat leads
them to a kind lady, Ol’ Zoo, who protects them from the Oogle
monsters.

Bold and colorful illustrations set the tone of this fantasy adventure,
which is accompanied by a 20-minute audiotape. The tape includes a
transcript of the text (as well as several songs referred to in the
text) and can be listened to with or without turn-the-page signals.
Recommended.
