Question: “How much coal did the Titanic use?” Answer: “At a
cruising speed of 21 to 22 knots, it used 620 to 640 tons per day.”
Question: “How many bathtubs were provided for the third-class
passengers?” Answer: “Two for over seven hundred people.”
Question: “How many lifeboats were originally planned?” Answer:
“The Titanic’s general manager, Alexander Carlisle, had 64 lifeboats
in his original plans. The owners and builders reduced the number to
16.” Question: “What cost more in today’s money, the ship Titanic
or the movie Titanic?” You will have to read the book for that answer.

There seems to be no end to the public’s appetite for Titanic trivia
and this book offers a banquet of 882Ѕ questions and answers about the
ship, packing a lot of information into a fun format. The questions
follow the chronological history of the ship, from the laying of the
keel in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to the making of the movie in Baja,
Mexico. Every page is crammed with period photographs, color
illustrations, and paintings by Titanic specialist, Ken Marschall. If
you are a Titanic fan, this book belongs on your must-read list. Highly
recommended.
