Review

Each page of this book is devoted to a particular topic about unicorns.
Hancock shares historical information about the mythical beast,
describing the unicorns of India, Italy, North America, China, Japan,
and Europe. Information is also provided about the magical powers of the
unicorn’s horn and the techniques people employed to capture unicorns.
A footnote about unicorns is located at the bottom of each page.

The book includes 30 colorful unicorn stickers, which can be matched to
the corresponding black-and-white illustrations in its pages. A grayish
misty border frames each page of text.

Aside from the stickers, however, the book is very sombre, relying
solely on black and gray tones. Furthermore, there seems to be a
discrepancy between the age appropriateness of the inclusion of stickers
in the book and the readability level of the text. Not recommended.
