Review

Facing the Day is an engaging book of rhymes about our facial
expressions and related emotions. Designed for preschoolers, the story
explores the range of moods a child might encounter in a typical day
fromn waking up to going to bed plus all the in-betweens—playing,
eating, learning, and napping. The emotions—covering the full spectrum
from “[a]ngry face, mean words, furious, mad!” to “[s]unny face,
funny, laughing, ha ha ha!”—are portrayed in terrific accompanying
illustrations.

Sure to delight 2- to 4-year-olds, Facing the Day is recommended for
families, junior kindergartens, and daycares.
