Review

Nora McClintock’s 5h novel for young adults is a compelling mystery in
which 15-year-old Tasha searches for the murderer of her mother. Tasha
is convinced her father did not kill her mother five years before and
bury her body in the basement of their old restaurant. But the police
are convinced of her father’s guilt, so Tasha and her friend Jace go
looking for clues in new places. After tracking the daughter of the chef
at the restaurant, Tasha locates a witness to the murder who is willing
to tell the truth.

Award-winning author Norah McClintock has written another page-turner
for young adults. From the cover illustration of a terrorized girl
through the many plot twists and surprises, The Body in the Basement
contains all the ingredients of an appealing mystery. Recommended.
