Review

Marina, who has been placed in 15 different foster homes, is desperate
to find her birth parents. Eventually, she is placed with an older
couple, the Lucases, in a village by the sea. Soon after she encounters
someone she believes to be her real mother. When she attempts to
facilitate a reunion, events begin to spiral out of control.

This well-written, sensitive, and accessible story should touch the
emotions of readers from primary level onward. Highly recommended.
