Review

These little board books exude quality. They are nicely proportioned,
sturdy, and glossy, with illustrations that are first-rate (characters
are depicted in soft, bright shades) and text that is well placed (one
line for every two pages).

The expressive characters (old-fashioned toys and gentle stuffed
animals), which reappear in each book, lend a unique visual image to a
child’s first nursery rhymes (the boyish spider with eight legs
clothed in overalls in Eensy Weensy Spider is particularly well done).
Their homespun quality combined with such simple props as wooden blocks
or a metal wagon give the books a classic tone.

This extremely attractive series would be a terrific addition to any
daycare, preschool, or home library. Highly recommended.
