Review

This little manual is full of fun topics and activities for students in
Grades 5 through 9. The format is easy to follow and immediately usable.

With minimal and easily accessed resources, students can explore
practical and innovative ways of doing math. Sample strategies and
responses help to clarify the concepts and deepen understanding. The
highlighted boxes in “Thoughts and Theories” provide good ideas for
teachers—ideas useful for math teaching but also for transfer to other
teaching situations. Connections to current math standards, especially
problem solving, communication, and application, support a variety of
assessment opportunities.
