Review
When Christine and her brother Hal are invited by Pepper McKenzie’s
parents to accompany them on a holiday in England, little do they
suspect what is awaiting them. The manor house in which they are staying
looks like a castle, and their host wears a clove of garlic on a string
around his neck. He explains that it is to ward off vampires and
confides that they have been very active recently. The children pass the
garlic off as an eccentricity until they are visited by a vampire, who
enlists their help to spy on their host. Mishaps, mystery, and
adventures ensue.
Filled with interesting vampire lore, this action-packed and tightly
written story holds the reader’s interest from start to finish. Highly
recommended.
