Review

Best friends Duff and Simon are recovering from the chickenpox and
can’t go to school. To relieve their boredom—and exercise their
vivid imaginations—Duff and Simon decide to stage a performance of
Jack the Giant Killer: their acting is so authentic that a worried
neighbor calls the police.

Illustrated with pleasing black-and-white line drawings, Duff and the
Giant Killer is a captivating introduction to the world of chapter books
for young readers. Recommended.
