The Best on Ice: The World's Best Figure Skaters

This attractive, easy-to-read book looks at today’s popular figure
skaters. Each two-page spreads feature several color photographs of
individual or pairs skaters and a brief text describing an aspect of
their skating life. Included are such international stars as Tara
Lipinski, Elvis Stojko, Ilia Kulik, and pairs stars Angelika Krylova,
and Oleg Ovsiannikov. The stories about the skaters often relate how one
overcame difficulties to reach his or her peak. The Best on Ice will
appeal especially to young figure-skating fans. Author Patty Cranston
has written two previous books on figure skating—Magic on Ice (1998)
and Superstars on Ice (1996). Recommended.
