Review

The entries in these comprehensive guides to restaurants in Canada are
organized alphabetically by location, from Abbotsford in British
Columbia to Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. Each entry
includes such information as average price of dinner for two, accepted
credit cards, smoking/nonsmoking arrangements, parking, wheelchair
access, and hours of operation. Each guide provides about 10 indexed
maps. The reviews are candid, inspired, and fairly detailed, with
historical anecdotes about the eateries. The guides dispense opinionated
advice that will

appeal to discriminating foodies. For example, they tell you where to
get great grilled tuna with mango for next to nothing, while dropping
caveats such as “they’re sometimes careless with their vegetables”
into an otherwise well-rated spot.
