Review

“What is the name of the species of fox found throughout the
Prairies?” “Who was the leader of the Métis during the Red River
Rebellion?” “What is a wapiti?” “What is another name for
lumberjacks?” These are a few of the brainteasers to be found in Glen
Rusth’s Canadian Prairies Crosswords.

Following on the success of similar books on Canada and British
Columbia, Rusth has turned his attention to tweaking out interesting
facts and ephemera about Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The
coverage is from the early explorers to the present and includes such
topics as sports, history, politics, nature, culture, and science.

There are 25 puzzles (and their solutions) aimed at all who enjoy
crosswords with a Canadian focus. Once again, Rusth has managed to
inform, amuse, and entertain.
