Review

Judith Campbell worked for 30 years as a nurse before taking retirement
in 1996. Since then, she has devoted her life to the promotion of
wellness, teaching her theories at a community college in Ottawa and
running a private practice. She also hosts a website,
www.energywellness.ca, which she hopes will help others in their pursuit
of a more integrated body, mind, and spirit.

In energywellness.ca, Campbell presents the core of her teaching to a
wider audience; the book is a good resource for those seeking greater
balance in their lives. Some of her topics, such as “harmonic
resonance” and “communing with all of nature,” to name a few,
verge on the New Age and may be off-putting for readers not so inclined,
but even the most skeptical of readers should give Campbell a chance.
Her book is filled with practical, common-sense advice that can be put
to use easily, and each thematic chapter concludes with a list of
exercises for the reader to try.

Campbell is not a professional writer, and this book’s tone is overly
conversational and informal. Her ideas, however, are sound, and her
methodology shows greater moderation than one might suppose at first
glance. Anyone seeking a more balanced life would do well to consult
energywellness.ca.
