Review

Ask any teacher to identify one of the biggest concerns he or she faces
in a classroom, and an answer often cited is anger and dealing with
anger management. Many books have been written on anger in the classroom
and how to deal with its effects.

This very brief book gives valuable hints, advice, and strategies on
dealing with children who are expressing anger. The book, which focuses
mainly on the early grades, is for the most part a series of
reproducible worksheets for students. These sheets are an excellent
basis on which to initiate individual, small-group, and large-group
discussion. Various games that focus attention on the source of anger
are also included.

There is nothing theoretical or comprehensive in Keep Cool!: Strategies
for Managing Anger at School, but for teachers needing a quick method
for effectively dealing with anger, this book is a good start.
