Review

Subtitling this small book Genesis to Revelation in 1 Hour is a bit
misleading, for few people will be able to read it in an hour. But Stan
Campbell does provide a concise front-to-back view of the Bible,
focusing on the narrative line in the Old Testament and the key persons
of Jesus and Paul in the New Testament. Along the way he provides quick
overviews of books by the major Israelite prophets and the letters of
Paul. The weakness of Campbellā€™s approach is that new readers will
find very little help in tackling major individual books of the Bible,
such as Exodus or the four Gospels. The strength is that he provides
theological insights into the Bible from a Christian perspective. So
this book may be more helpful to those with a basic knowledge of the
Bible, enabling them to understand in fuller context what they have
already encountered.
