Review

C. Sydney Frost served with gallantry and determination in Italy and
Northwest Europe in the Second World War, and he has made it a personal
crusade to see that the memories of his comrades’ sacrifices are
preserved.

His first volume of memoirs, Once a Patricia, dealt with his wartime
service. This volume is a personal record of his travels in support of
his Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry’s causes and his
own. There are descriptions of his battles with bureaucrats and moving
tales of the reactions of Canadian vets and the Italian and Dutch
citizens they freed. There are accounts of war cemeteries across Europe,
and a variety of comments on other topics. PPCLI veterans and those
interested in commemoration will find this memoir moving.
