Review

Jack MacNeil is the host of a current-affairs radio program. He gets a
tip for a story idea from Herb Jenson, one of his listeners. Jenson
claims that there is a cave on his property in which voices echo
endlessly. Though initially sceptical, Jack pursues the story. His
investigations lead him to an unsolved three-year-old
multimillion-dollar robbery case involving an organized crime syndicate.
Frank Carson, one of the key players in that robbery, fears that Jack
will uncover secrets of betrayal and murder, so Carson comes out of
hiding to ensure that the secrets are not exposed.

In his first novel, James Norman has crafted a first-rate suspense
story, with a sophisticated plot, high tension (as MacNeil tries to
piece the case together, Carson is just a few steps behind), and fully
developed characters. Fortunately, more novels featuring Jack MacNeil
are planned for the future.
