Review

This collection of short stories features women who are insecure and
vulnerable. In “Aprons and Homemade Bread,” a mother believes that
her lover, a woman who has never had children herself, knows more about
mothering than she does. In “Without Regrets,” a woman awaits
menopause with both eagerness and trepidation. The stories, as the title
suggests, relate how our lives are filled with imperfect moments when we
dare not say what we truly feel or think, and consequently allow
opportunities to pass us by. These fascinating stories are honest and
real in their depiction of human relations.
