Review

This comprehensive and commonsensical book starts off with a chapter on
understanding real estate, and continues with chapters on the types of
real estate, on finding the right home, on determining the value of a
home, on selecting professionals and other experts, on the legal and tax
aspects, on mortgages, on additional costs when buying a home, on
negotiating strategies, and, finally, on selling a home. It ends with
checklists on various topics (e.g., assessing a property, what to do on
moving day, etc.) and a glossary. The author is a recently retired
lawyer with experience in all aspects of the topic.

Of course, no buyer will need all the advice contained in this book.
However comprehensive the table of contents, Home Buying Made Easy would
be much improved by the addition of a detailed subject index so that the
user could go directly to the topic wanted.
