Review

Prepared by The Globe and Mail shortly after the 1993 federal election,
this handbook is exactly what its subtitle says—“A Guide to Dealing
with the Federal Government.” All the ministries, boards, and agencies
of government are listed, each with the responsible minister, the key
appointees and bureaucrats, and the funding and number of employees.
There are addresses and telephone numbers and a brief capsule
description of each body’s purposes. By definition, such a guide is
outdated as soon as it is printed, but this is still a very useful tool.
