Review

This book consists of a collection of brief autobiographies by women
priests in the Anglican Church. The writers explain their “call” to
ordination and provide some anecdotes about their careers. Needless to
say, the book supports the current Anglican policy of ordaining women
into its priesthood.

The stories are straightforward, clearly expressed, and, despite an
occasional note of bitterness, constructive and free of “male
bashing.” Though well-written, these accounts tend to be somewhat
lacklustre and monotonous; one could almost say, “Read one and
you’ve read them all.”

Nevertheless, the book should hold some interest for students of
feminist theology in particular and for professionals within the Church
in general.
