Review

This updated version of the 1978 bestseller is essentially a collection
of paranormal testimonies ranging from “hauntings” to out-of-body
and near-death experiences—all of which, Currie concludes, are
indisputable proofs of the reality of reincarnation. Despite the
author’s consistently dogmatic stance, the accounts he offers here are
less than persuasive, and some are downright laughable. Indeed, many of
them run counter to his strongly held views on reincarnation,
reinforcing instead traditional Judeo– Christian notions of the
afterlife.

Currie borrows heavily from other authors, but seems to take much of
what they have to say on faith—hardly an academically responsible
practice. Serious students of the paranormal and thanatology should
avoid this book.
